A testament to just how lazy I have been; It’s been five days since my return home and I
STILLhaven’t unpacked my bags
I need some serious help people- it’s senior year all over again!
Well anyways, thanks for all the well wishes folks! All and all, the trip was amazingly fun! Willy was not in attendance sadly (he had something else that he really wanted to go to),
but me and my friend B were able to get Z to come along. Her apartment was on the way and B had to pick up her swimsuit from there anyways, so we popped on by.
Z’s husband had just deployed to Afghanistan for a one year tour, and even thought I think that he can be down right awful at times (meaning most of the time) she was pretty upset over it—understandably. I almost had a heart attack when she said that she drove back to the flat herself because she was a mess and she doesn’t have her driving licensee yet. But she did a bang up job of the parking

Well anyways, when we entered the apartment, it was just this horrid mess. I mean the smell was burning through my nostrils to my throat and her husband‘s stuff was all over the place ( trash and cigarette butts included

)
All I really wanted to do right then was to pick it all up and clean the place with bleach. But she pleaded with us not to touch anything.
So me and B basically just started to pack her a bag because it was obvious that she needed to get away more than anything. She put up a little fight but once I told her I was prepared to have B drag her out of the flat and down the stairs she gave in.
So from Z’s house, Ocean Shores is a 2 hour drive. But since it was the 4th of July weekend, traffic got crazy around the Gary’s Harbor, Hoquiam area, so we took a detour through Forks. So for all you Twilight fans, I took some pictures of the forest (we didn’t go through the town) and of the neighboring villages. But even still, the trip there was still about 3 freakin’ hours .

We got to the hotel around 4 PM and unloaded (or rather, B’s boyfriend A unloaded) our stuff into our room and then we drove to the beach. We could have easily have walked to the beach, seeing that our hotel was right on the edge of the beach, but it was a good thing we did as I found out later on.
So I was super excited to be on the coast period—forget about the work that I was suppose to be doing! It was the fourth and I was ready to party! Which to me, being the nerd that I am means sand dollar hunting! Me B, Z and A walked along the expansive coast line and talked about stuff and dipped our feet into the freezing Pacific Ocean and then ran them through the silk-soft sand. Back in Seattle where I live, all the sand on our beaches is imported from California so it’s processed and hard and rough. But the natural sand from Washington is feather like and dusty making it feel like you were walking on a cloud!
The only downfall to cloud walking is that you tend to sink. A lot. Our bodies were too heavy for the sand so it was very hard walking on the dry sand. The wet sand and the sand y area that was used as a road for people to drive on was okay, but the dry sand was a real work out

Didn’t stop us from having fun though. A pulled out the sport equipment and I got to show off my athletic side!
I PWN against B and Z but A dominated over us all (It’s only because he’s a man lol) Afterward, he let me use his Nikkon D40 camera, which I salivate over, to go shoot pictures of the beach. There was this really cute Pitbull named Tutties and I just had to take a picture of her

She was
sooo friendly and cute!!!! I
♥ dogs!!
We stayed there until sunset when it got super cold and then drove back to the apartment. I was very glad we had the car then—walking back would have been hard to do on the sand and it was freezing! Like 32 degrees Fahrenheit freezing. So it was nice to have the SUV

So after we left the beach we decided that we were hungry, so we decided to drive around to find some place to eat. Only me and my friends would decided to dine at an Asian place on Independence weekend. It was called
House of Pho I do believe. My food was incredible! I had the vegetairian style Chow Mein, yum! Z seemed content with her meal which was tofu sauté’ in this one sauce, but B and A didn’t seem too happy with theirs, which was a Pho Gah. They said their chicken was cooked too much so it was chewy. The best part about the restaurant was the bathrooms! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!

After we left the restaurant, we went back to the hotel and went to the pool/hot tub area. By that time it was already around midnight and the pool closed at ten, but some guys broke into the room and a full on party was going on, so me B and Z donned our swimsuits and headed on over. I met this guy there name
Tom and he seemed nice enough and I found out that we even went to the same college! But then he began to hit on me and my friends and asking us where our room was and if we wanted to go back to his room.
Eww.
So we started talking about A and our own boyfriend/husband, but he still didn’t seem to get the picture that it was a solid
NO.
Then some other girls entered the pool and they were form Pullayallup and Forks. They we’re pretty stuck up and pretty much mugged us and didn’t respond to anything anyone else said to them including ‘
Excuse me but your hair is in my mouth’ By God they were rude! I had half the mind to tell them off when the security officer busted in and told us we all had to leave before he called the police (which he should have done in the first place because of all the underage drinking in public) So me and my friends bolted out of there, so Tom couldn’t see which way we headed.
We spent all of the next day at the beach. I went to do my little interviews of the new government members for work, but then I just spent the rest of my time with my friends. Some drama went down ( but what do you really expect with two girls on their period?) but all of it was easily resolved. I took a four mile walk down the coast line looking for animal life, but most of the exciting stuff was hidden due to the massive amount of people there. I did find some really pretty crab shells though

Then around 3 someone shot off a firecracker and it landed in the bushes near the hotel and the brushes caught fire! It was a medium size but still pretty scary. Even though I’m afraid of fire, the reporter in me had me running off towards it with A’s camera. Sadly I didn’t download those pictures to my laptop but I’ll snag them off of FB once I get back on (I’m trying to avoid someone right now…)
I was amazed how close I got to it! I could literally feel the heat of it pricking at my skin and feel the smoke in my lungs. I was surprised and (this is very sad but)v disappointed that the firefighters didn’t tell me to back up. After a few minutes though, all my Gryffindor bravo was drained and I gave the camera to A so he could get some more pic’s from even closer to the fire as I retreated back to the sands.
B then told me that I should prepare myself for all the fireworks that were to come. I don’t dislike fireworks- I think they are very pretty. But I don’t like it when a whole bunch go off in an unsecure area with a bunch of drunks and pyromaniacs. Not so much the best combo right?
I was literally terrified by the time it was over. They were gorgeous to look at when the exploded in the sky but not when one went whizzing past your face.
I had a mild panic attack and ran into the car ( which was most likely the unsafe place to be at the time lol) I called Willy as soon as I calmed down enough to speak , and found out that I wasn’t the only one losing my mind.
But it was defiantly worst for me. There was a full moon that night, but you couldn’t see they sky because of all the smoke and ash. Hell you could see 30 feet in front of you! So I cried on the phone with Willy as my friends had their fun.
The things I do for them. Hump.

I absolutely demanded that we left when the rain started to kick in bring the ash back down to earth. Leaving the beach was Hell though. Many cars got stuck in the sand and since it was midnight, the tide came all the way in and since no one could see anything, some people drove straight into the ocean and their cars stalled and there were tons of accidents. We were luck only to have to deal with the traffic problem.
We got to the hotel and sleep came easily

Well, somewhat. For the tiny girl Z is, she kept pushing me off the bed that we were sharing. So I ended up going to the lobby with my laptop to surf the net and talk with the lobby folk.
When my friends finally woke up, we packed our things, grab breakfast and checked out. B and A wanted to ride mopeds, but me and Z wanted to look at the local shops so we split for a bit. I ended up buying some water colour paint and some banana ice cream, my favorite. Then me and Z caught up on time we missed together.
I tried really hard not to try and bash her husband lol, but we talked about billed and expensive and what not. Then B and A got back from their ride and then we started our journey back home. It was a
LONG trip back. Even with the detour through Forks, it was about a 9 hour drive back

I did get the chance to stop at a Mexican restaurant though, just outside of Forks. It the first time I have ever been to a Mexican restaurant. It was pretty good! Very expensive though
Here are some other picuters you might want to look at!
